Sugar Mountain has plenty of activities during the winter months to keep you active and fit! So, put on that ski bunny suit and hit the slopes or enjoy one of the events at Sugar Mountain Ski Resort.
Snowshoe Guided Tours
December 1, 2024 – March 24, 2025.
Snowshoe tours are offered every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 3:00 p.m. and Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Based on instructor availability, additional tours are given on demand for groups of four to fifteen. The program includes a one-hour tour and snowshoe rental. Adult tours are for those who are 12 years or older. Children’s tours are for those ages 8-11. Sign up at least fifteen minutes prior to your tour time at the Snowsports School building.
SugarFest
December 13-15, 2024.
A weekend full of fun includes consumer ski/snowboard equipment demos, the ribbon cutting celebration of the new, Oma’s high-speed, detachable, quad chairlift, live music performed by The Collective, fireworks at dusk presented by the Village of Sugar Mountain, preseason ski clinic, appearances by Sweetie and Sugar Bear, and lodging specials. Indulge in a hot chocolate and whipped cream bar, a soup safari and BBQ and sweet tea during SugarFEAST.
Santa at Sugar Mountain
December 17-24, 2024.
Santa will be skiing, riding, and talking with all the good boys and girls.
New Year’s Eve at Sugar Mountain
December 31, 2024.
A New Year’s Eve celebration mountain style! Enjoy a complimentary alpine torchlight parade at 11:45 p.m. and a firework show at midnight. A fee, as well as reservations for the indoor festivities from 9:00 p.m. until 1:00 a.m. featuring live music by The Collective, are required and should be made by calling (828) 898-4521 ext. 261. Winter Trails Day
January 7, 2025.
Winter Trails Day offers children and adults new to snow sports the chance to try snowshoeing for FREE. Discover the fun and fitness of snow sports. Guided tours are available on the hour from 9:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. The program includes a forty-five-minute tour and snowshoe rental. Adult tours are for those who are 12 years or older. Children’s tours are for those ages 8-11. Sign up at least fifteen minutes prior to your tour time at the ski/snowboard school.
