Drink local.” While beer is their craft, Appalachian Mountain Brewery focuses on ideals that empower individuals, support local business and give back to the greater High Country region. Appalachian Mountain Brewery aims to serve high-quality beers while respecting not only the local community but the earth as a whole.
Community Involvement
So much more than just a brewery, Appalachian Mountain Brewery is involved in the supporting the local community. In fact, the brewery’s business model is centered around community, sustainability and philanthropy, with a focus on building relations in the community.
Appalachian Mountain Brewery has a Pints for Non-Profits program that allows you to support a local charity by just buying a pint of beer. The brewery also funds the We Can So You Can Foundation, along with Farm to Flame, which supports the local community through education, agriculture and renewable energy.
Sustainability
The brewery makes a conscience effort to help protect the natural environment of Boone and the whole world. Appalachian Mountain Brewery uses solar panels to offset electricity demands and a rain garden to reduce pollutant runoff.
Appalachian Mountain Brewery is also involved in a grain exchange to create a sustainable brewing process. The brewery donates spent grain to local farms to use as cattle feed.
Appalachian Mountain Brewery Beers
Appalachian Mountain Brewery beers are brewed in-house at their Boone location. The brewery produces flagship beers along with many seasonal beers.
The flagship beers include: Boone Creek, a blonde ale; Long Leaf, an India pale ale; a porter; Spoaty-Oaty, an American-style pale ale; and three types of cider.
In addition to beers, Appalachian Mountain Brewery also produces hard mountain cider. Appalachian Mountain Brewery has many flagship and seasonal ciders that feature an array of flavors and styles. These flavorful, crisp and refreshing ciders are also gluten free.
Appalachian Mountain Brewery Tasting Room
Visit the Appalachian Mountain Brewery tasting room, located near the Boone Mall. Take a seat inside or outside, as the tasting room boasts plenty of outdoor seating as well as a 120-foot-long outdoor bar overlooking Boone Creek.
At the tasting room you can enjoy the flagship beers, as well as seasonal beers and ciders that you can’t find anywhere else.
As you sip your beer, you may get hungry. Farm to Flame food truck frequents Appalachian Mountain Brewery. The food truck offers a fantastic selection of wood-fired pizzas and more items that are sourced from local farms.
Events at Appalachian Mountain Brewery
The Appalachian Mountain Brewery tasting room hosts several types of events throughout the year. Don’t miss live music, trivia Tuesday, open mic night and more.
