A favorite summer tradition is the outdoor music series, Grillin’ & Chillin’, (photo at top). Enjoy live bands on 15 Wednesday evenings while watching the sunset. Bring your dancing shoes! Also each summer, the ski slopes transform into a network of downhill mountain bike trails. Scenic lift rides take you to the summit for panoramic views. Due to its location, Sugar Mountain typically has the first fall colors in the Blue Ridge Mountains. For a unique way to watch the leaf show, ride the chair lift up 1,200 feet in elevation. Also celebrate with Oktoberfest – complete with Bavarian music, costume contest, kids’ fun center and plenty of beer.
