June 10-14: High Country Jazz Festival

The inaugural High Country Jazz Festival takes place in various beautiful venues in both Boone and Blowing Rock. Hear from some phenomenal jazz musicians at the historic Appalachian Theatre of the High Country, plus catch shows at outdoor venues, late night jams, jazz brunches and more.

June 12-15, 18-21: Day Out with Thomas at Tweetsie Railroad

Day Out With Thomas is an annual event held at Tweetsie Railroad in Blowing Rock, that offers children and their families the unique opportunity to take a ride with Thomas, the No. 1 blue engine, have your photo taken with Sir Topham Hatt, and enjoy a day of fun-filled Thomas & Friends™ themed activities and much more! Join us for a train ride behind Thomas, departing every 40 minutes, rain or shine.

June 19-21: Boonerang Music & Arts Festival

Artists with ties to the High Country will return to Boone this summer for the second annual Boonerang Music & Arts Festival on June 19-21, 2026

Presented by the Town of Boone and supporting partners, the free event will feature performances and activities throughout the day at multiple downtown locations, including a street stage on South Depot Street and a stage at the Jones House.
