Here are some free Fourth of July events happening in Banner Elk.

Fourth of July Parade

Red, white and blue abounds at Banner Elk’s Fourth of July Parade. Beginning at 11 a.m. at the Lees-McRae College campus library, this patriotic parade travels through the heart of Banner Elk down Main Street. The parade is open to anyone and features classic cars, trucks, bands, animals and more.

Family Fun Fourth

Following the end of the parade, around noon, head to the lawn in front of the Historic Banner Elk School for the free Family Fun Fourth. Perfect for all ages, this event features three bands, games, inflatables, mini golf, barbecue and more.

From noon until 6 p.m., hear live performances from Clockworx, Smokin’ Joe Band and The Extraordinaires. Dunn’s Deli will be serving plated barbecue meals, and there will also be food trucks on-site. Bring chairs and blankets and get ready to enjoy a full day of family-friendly fun.
