The Town of Lansing is located in the mountainous northwestern section of the county.
From humble beginnings in the nineteenth century, through a railroad boom and fiery near-destruction, Lansing is rich in history. The Historic Lansing Creeper Trail Park features a 1.5 mile greenway with picnic areas along Big Horse Creek, designated NC Mountain Heritage Trout Waters, an ADA accessible fishing pier and a historic barn venue.
